I love supporting fellow small creative businesses and what better way than shopping. A lot of brands and makers that I follow are online only so markets and fairs in Bristol give me a chance to shop in real life with them. Here are my favourite market and fairs in Bristol, some of which are seasonal, some of which happen year round:
Etsy Made Local - City Hall, Bristol, 30th November to 1st December 2019, free entry
Having organised this event for two years previously it’s always my number one market to try to get to as a visitor. The array and standard of local makers here always amazes me and seems to get better each year. Craft workshops run alongside the market too so you can learn something new too. Check the Bristol Etsy Team Facebook page for updates.
Colston Hall Gift Market - Colston Hall Foyer (dates TBC for 2019, free entry)
I used to attend this market as a seller a few yers ago, but now really enjoy it as a seller. The Foyer hosts 3 tiers of excellent designers and makers and sometimes there is a choir too. An excellent choice for Christmas presents and to get into the festive spirit, I love visiting this market as an escape from the chaos of the local shopping centres during the run up to the holidays.
Arnos Vale Meet Your Maker, (2019 Christmas date TBC, free entry).
An excellent play on words for this historic Cemetery close to Bristol Temple Meads train station. You can also enjoy a good cup of coffee at the on site cafe, enjoy a wildflower filled walk and of course discover a heap of talented designer makers. I love taking Ray to this one in the summertime as there’s lots of space for him to run around and interesting things in the grounds too. Check the Arnos Vale Cemetery website for updates.
